Statement of Purpose
Audience
The audience I would most be trying to reach is young adults. Teenagers that suffer with large or small amounts of stress and just don’t know how to handle it. Also I would like to focus on reaching teenagers that have suffered the loss of a close friend or family member. I will most likely hold two separate meetings, the first with people with stress and emotional problems and the second for those that have lost someone.
Context
I think the kids will most likely be feeling depressed, stressed or just be emotional when they read the information that I have to give out. Most likely when these teenagers come across this information, they will most likely be at school. I will have brochures available at numerous high schools and junior high schools in the surrounding areas and in the brochure have a schedule of dates and times for meetings.
Purpose
The purpose of this idea is to help young adults deal with stress and emotions. Many teenagers don’t know how to deal with stress and emotions the right way and I plan on giving them a few pointers and try to help them to my best ability.
Statement of Purpose
For this project I plan to make brochures for young adults to see, and look through. I think the best place to post them would be at high schools and junior high school The reason I have decided to make a brochure is because it’s a little more private then going on the computer at school or having a big sign. With a brochure they can take it, and look at it while they are alone, and then feel more comfortable and more likely to call the number, or follow the ideas that will be listed in the brochure.

Design Plan
On my statement of purpose I discussed the audience that I will be trying to reach, which will be young adults who are dealing with stress and emotion issues. The context of this project will most likely be at schools for the young adults to see the brochures, and I plan on handing out brochures to teachers around the schools so that everyone will get one and they can choose to go in their own time and not feel weird taking one from the hallway or from an office. Finally the purpose of this plan is to help young adults that are having stress and emotional problems but just don’t know how to deal with the problems. I feel making this brochure will be very helpful to a lot of young adults, but I also know it won’t be any help to some.
I have chosen make a brochure, I have made this decision because I feel it is going to be the best way to reach these kids. The brochure will be filled with a lot of information about stress and depression as well as a schedule of introductory meetings to help the kids find new ways to deal with stress. I have decided to make the brochure very bright with large letters so that it will capture the eye when walking by. Most likely it will have a simple title so that it doesn’t scream that your depressed or stressed out. Probably just a simple title, like “Stressed Out?.” I think it is best to use a title like this because then it makes the students want to find out more about the brochure, because if they are stressed out they will be interested in finding out more about the brochure. I’d like to list most of the tips in the brochure because most people feel more comfortable reading and having their stress and emotions to themselves, rather than expressing that in a public group.
To make this brochure I will probably make it on the computer. I will need a lot of paper, because I plan to make a large amount so that I can pass them out to numerous schools. Most likely I will have to purchase extra ink cartridges for the print as well as printer paper. I plan on printing about three hundred brochures therefore I will need about four or five hundred sheets of paper. I’ve decided to use a printer because it would take too much time to hand make two hundred brochures. The tone of the brochure will be a serious tone with a less than professional style. If the brochure was too professional than kids would not be interested in reading it. I want to present it in a way where the readers know it is a serious issue but feel comfortable about the situation at the same time.
